Beschreibung der Arbeit

Art der Arbeit
Thema der Promotion Understanding Implementation and Scale-Up of Digital Tuberculosis Tools in LMICs: A Mixed-Methods Study
Voraussichtliche Dauer (in Monaten) 6-9
davon in Vollzeit (in Monaten) 6
Startzeitpunkt mid-August
Methoden

This mixed-methods project includes both quantitative and qualitative components. Quantitative data will be used to assess reach, adoption, and fidelity of digital TB screening tools. Qualitative methods include in-depth interviews (IDIs) with health workers and decision-makers, and focus group discussions (FGDs) with patient representatives. Structured questionnaires will be applied to evaluate feasibility, acceptability, and perceived fit. Data collection will be done in collaboration with local study staff in a low- and middle-income country (LMIC).

Zielsetzung

The main objective is to identify critical aspects necessary for the successful adoption and scale-up of digital screening tools for TB in LMICs. The study focuses on three dimensions: (i) feasibility, acceptability, and perceived fit; (ii) fidelity to intervention components; and (iii) key drivers of scale-up. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the design of the evaluation, data collection and analysis of implementation outcomes. The project will generate knowledge to support sustainable integration of digital health innovations in TB programs.

Rahmenbedingungen

Strukturierte Betreuung

The candidate will be integrated into the doctoral seminars, journal clubs, and peer exchange structures of the department. Additional mentoring will be available throughout data collection and analysis.

Anforderungen

The position is open to medical students (Dr. med. track) at Heidelberg University with a strong interest in global health, TB, or implementation science. Familiarity with either qualitative or quantitative methods is an asset but not required. The candidate must be available for at least 6 months full-time and fluent in English. Participation in relevant research seminars is expected.

Finanzielle Unterstützung

There is no payment and no cost for the student. Project-related expenses such as data collection, travel (if needed) and access to necessary software for analysis will be covered by the main study.

Autorenschaft

Authorship on at least one peer-reviewed publication is planned. (Shared)
