Thema der Promotion Feasibility of consumer-grade wearable devices for novel climate change and health research in the South East Asia Community Observatory, Malaysia
Voraussichtliche Dauer (in Monaten) 4
davon in Vollzeit (in Monaten) 10
Startzeitpunkt sofort
Methoden

The student is expected to conduct a scoping/systematic review on how novel technological measurements are and have been used for climate change and health research in Asian contexts. Following the scoping/systematic review, a feasibility study is conducted in the South East Asia Community Observatory, Malaysia, to evaluate (i) the feasibility of using consumer-grade wearable devices for health and in particular for climate change and health research (i.e.e expressed as extreme weather events, such as heat waves), (ii) the acceptance of such wearable devices within a multi-ethnic context. The feasibility study will follow a mixed-methods study design.

Zielsetzung

The study will contribute to improving best practises and pathways for climate change and health research in the context of the South East Asia Community Observatory. Working on this topic, doctoral students will therefore contribute to the methodological advancement of climate change and health research in Malaysia and gain important insights on novel technological measurements and their usefulness for climate change and health research.
