The prospective candidate would be expected to take preparatory coursework within the MEDISS program, develop two related studies on the subject matter, travel to India for 1-2 months for data collection and analysis, develop two manuscripts and compile a doctoral thesis based on the two manuscripts.

Apart from being important contributions to the research literature, the results from this study will be directly used to inform clinical practice on the screening of pediatric TBI.

The candidate would be closely supervised by Dr. Michael L. Wilson, Dr. Shankar Viswanathan (Einsten College of Medicine, New York) and Prof. Dr. Till Bärnighausen

We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible. The prospective candidate would need to be willing to learn qualitative and quantitative methods appropriate for the planned studies and data analysis using the R Statistical Environment. Proficiency in English is a requirement, knowledge of other languages would be advantageous. Upon being selected, the candidate would draft an initial proposal.

Students within the structured doctoral program at the University of Heidelberg are eligible to apply for competitive departmental funding.

The prospective candidate would lead (as first author) on the papers resulting from this study.
